A Decade of Craftsmanship
Southern Draw Cigars, based in Texas, is marking its ten-year milestone with a special release: the Decennium cigar. The name, derived from the Latin word for “a decade,” signifies the brand’s commitment to quality and tradition. Retailers can expect to receive this new addition within the next week.
A New Production Partnership
For this release, Southern Draw took a different approach. While previous cigars were crafted in Nicaragua by A.J. Fernandez, Decennium is being produced at El Titan de Bronze, a boutique factory in Miami’s Little Havana. This factory is run by Sandy Cobas, known for her expertise and dedication to cigar-making. To give back to the community, Southern Draw is donating a portion of the sales to a charity that supports the Little Havana neighborhood.
Cigar Details and Availability
Decennium is available in a single size, a Lonsdale, which measures 6 inches by 46 ring gauge. Originally planned as a retailer-exclusive product, Southern Draw decided to make it a regular production release, allowing more enthusiasts to enjoy it. The blend features a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper, paired with Dominican Criollo β98 and Nicaraguan fillers. As a result, the cigar offers a medium-strength smoking experience.
The cigars are packaged in cardboard packs, each containing three cigars, and are priced at $44.99 per pack, making each cigar $15. Initially, only 5,000 three-packs (or 15,000 cigars) will be available. However, Southern Draw plans to increase production to around 60,000 cigars. Additionally, the brand is considering introducing other sizes and packaging options in the future.
Looking Ahead
Robert Holt, the owner of Southern Draw, hinted at more exciting collaborations with El Titan de Bronze. This suggests that Decennium is just the beginning of a new chapter for the brand. As Southern Draw Cigars celebrates a decade of success, the Decennium release stands as a testament to its ongoing commitment to quality, innovation, and community engagement.
