Jose L. Piedra Petit Cazadores

Habanos: Jose L. Piedra

Jose L. Piedra is a Cuban cigar brand that offers budget-friendly options without compromising on the Cuban tobacco experience. The brand has a long history and is known for producing hand-finished cigars using short-filler tobacco. For me, Jose L. Piedra stands out as a significant Habano due to its unique blend, which consists solely of filler tobaccos cultivated in the Remedios tobacco region, and its production method, which employs the entirely handmade, short filler technique.

Cigar: Petit Cazadores

The Petit Cazadores is a specific vitola (size and shape) within the Jose L Piedra lineup.

Characteristics:

  • Size: Petit Cazadores are relatively small cigars. They typically measure about 4.12 inches (105 mm) in length with a ring gauge of 43mm. This makes them a convenient option for shorter smoking sessions (15/20min).
  • Flavor Profile:Β These cigars offer a medium-bodied smoking experience with earthy and woody notes, accompanied by hints of spice. The flavors are straightforward yet satisfying.
  • Of course it’s just a short filler, nothing complex happens but there is the experience of smoking a Cuban entrance cigar!
  • Construction: The Jose L Piedra Petit Cazadores are hand-finished, which means they are not entirely hand-rolled but do involve some level of hand craftsmanship. They use short-filler tobacco, which consists of chopped tobacco leaves rather than whole leaves, leading to a more affordable product.
  • Wrapper: The wrapper is typically a Cuban leaf, providing a smooth and consistent smoking experience.
  • Strength: Medium strength, offering a balanced smoking experience that is not too overwhelming.

For me, these cigars represent a good value for money, decent quality with an very affordable price, making Jose L. Piedra the perfect choice for beginners and users with low buying power who still like to enjoy a Cuban cigar.
