Celebrating 30 Years: The LFD 30 Years Anniversary Cigar

In 1994, Litto Gomez and Ines Lorenzo-Gomez started their journey in the cigar industry. Now, three decades later, they’re celebrating with the release of the LFD 30 Years Anniversary Cigar. This special cigar has begun appearing in select shops, especially in the Miami area, where La Flor Dominicana has its U.S. headquarters.

Some lucky retailers already have the cigars, and several events have been held to mark the occasion. For instance, last week in Greenwich, Connecticut, Tobacconist of Greenwich hosted a celebration where enthusiasts could purchase the cigar.

A Unique Presentation: The Humidor

This release is unique not just because of the cigar but also due to the special humidor that accompanies it. Crafted with precision in the Dominican Republic at La Flor Dominicana’s box factory, these humidors are striking. Bright yellow with a polished finish, the exterior is designed to resemble the Tamboril factory where La Flor Dominicana cigars are crafted. Inside, the lid showcases a stunning image of Litto and Ines on horseback in one of their lush tobacco fields.

Each humidor contains 60 Chisel-shaped cigars. These cigars feature a wedge-shaped figurado, which has become a signature of La Flor Dominicana. Measuring 6 1/2 inches long with a 58-ring gauge, the cigars are gently pressed and adorned with three bands. Each band is bordered in golden leaves, with the footband marking the 30-year milestone. The main band is crowned with a resplendent pink tobacco flower, the symbol of the company whose name translates to β€œthe Dominican flower.”

The Blend and Pricing

The blend of this anniversary cigar is both familiar and unique. It includes an aged binder leaf from CotuΓ, Dominican Republic, and a filler blend from La Flor’s tobacco farm in La Canela. The wrapper is Ecuadorian Sumatra, adding a layer of richness to the flavor profile.

These cigars are priced at $30 each, and the complete humidor retails for $1,800. Ines Lorenzo-Gomez mentioned that the cigars will continue to roll out slowly over the next six months. β€œWe’re trying to allocate as best we can,” she explained, ensuring that as many enthusiasts as possible can enjoy this milestone cigar.

The LFD 30 Years Anniversary Cigar represents three decades of passion, dedication, and craftsmanship. For those lucky enough to find them, these cigars offer a piece of La Flor Dominicana’s rich history and a celebration of excellence in every puff.
