Caldwell Cigar Co. Introduces Long Live the Queen Maduro

Caldwell Cigar Co. is launching a Maduro version of its Long Live the Queen line, made in the Dominican Republic. The company showcased the cigars at this year’s PCA trade show in March, and they are expected to reach retailers later this month.

In 2022, Caldwell Cigar Co. released Long Live the Queen, a line with a royal theme. The Ace of Hearts size earned the No. 14 spot on Cigar Aficionado’s Top 25 list of 2023. The new Maduro version features a dark Mexican cover leaf from San AndrΓ©s, an Indonesian Sumatra binder, and filler from the Dominican Republic and the United States. However, Caldwell has not specified which U.S. tobacco they use.

According to the company, these cigars are medium to full in strength.

Long Live the Queen Maduro cigars come from the new Tabacalera William Ventura factory, which was built after the original burned down in 2022. This release marks Caldwell’s first new product from the rebuilt factory.

The line offers the following sizes:

  • Queen’s Crest: 5 1/2 inches by 46 ring gauge ($14.20)
  • Queen’s Coronet: 5 by 50 ($14.80)
  • Queen’s Chalice: 6 by 54 ($16)
  • Queen’s Charge: 6 by 60 ($18)
  • Wild Card (box-pressed): 6 by 52 ($20)

Like the original line, Long Live the Queen Maduro comes in boxes of 10. However, these boxes are black instead of white.

Earlier this year, Laudisi Enterprises acquired Caldwell Cigar Co. Laudisi specializes in premium pipes and pipe tobacco. Despite the acquisition, Caldwell founders Robert Caldwell and Juan Jaramillo remain as vice president and director of cigar operations, respectively.
