A Small Miami Factory and Giant Cigar Corporation Team Up for a New Cigar Line

Redemption from El Titan de Bronze was one of the most talked-about products at the PCA trade show in March. News broke that the small Miami cigar factory signed a distribution deal with General Cigar Co. to handle its Redemption brand. Now, the cigars are heading to retailers.

While this alliance may seem unusual, the two companies have a history of collaboration. General previously contracted El Titan to produce a Miami-made line of Cohiba (Serie M) and a limited-edition Partagas (Partagas de Bronce). The difference this time is that El Titan not only produces Redemption but also wholly owns the brand. General serves as Redemption’s exclusive distributor, though it does not distribute El Titan’s other cigar lines.

Redemption

Although El Titan de Bronze already produced a Redemption series, this new blend is entirely different. It consists of a sun-grown Ecuador Habano wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder from EstelΓ, and Nicaraguan filler from EstelΓ and Jalapa. The cigars come in three sizes:

  • Corona (5 5/8 inches by 46 ring)
  • Robusto (5 inches by 50 ring)
  • Toro (6 inches by 52 ring)

Prices range from $15.99 to $17.99 each, and they are packaged in 10-count boxes.

Founded in 1995 by Sandy Cobas, El Titan de Bronze is located in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood. It is one of the few factories left in Miami producing premium cigars.

General Cigar Co.

General Cigar Co., a subsidiary of Scandinavian Tobacco Group, owns, produces, and distributes cigar brands such as Macanudo, Partagas, CAO, and La Gloria Cubana.

This partnership combines General Cigar’s extensive distribution network with El Titan’s craftsmanship, bringing the high-quality Redemption line to a broader market.
