Vegueros Centrogordos Launch in Toronto
On May 14th, 2024, The Smokinβ Cigar Inc., a renowned Habanos Specialist in Toronto, introduced the latest addition to the Vegueros brand: the Centrogordos (54 ring gauge x 4 inches long). This exclusive event was part of the βUn Habano Nuevoβ concept for local product launches. Held at the prestigious National Club in Toronto, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary, the event drew about 75 Habanos enthusiasts.
Distinguished Attendees
The event was graced by the celebrated βTeam Caballerosβ (Philip Ramos, Aaron Ignacio, and their coach Francisco Rojas, Master in Habanos). The team won the 2024 International Competition Habanos World Challenge. Executives from Havana House Cigar and Tobacco Merchants Ltd, the region’s official Habanos distributor, also attended. Cuban Ambassador Rodrigo Malmierca and General Consul in Toronto Jorge Yanier Castellanos Orta were present as well.
Cigar Highlights
Guests enjoyed not only the Vegueros Centrogordos but also sampled other exceptional cigars. The Romeo y Julieta Short Churchills stood out, praised by βTeam Caballerosβ for its excellence. The team won the 2024 HWC competition by identifying this cigar in a blind tasting. Another notable cigar was the San Luis Rey Regios, paired expertly with Legendario rum.
Cultural Experience
The event offered more than cigars. Attendees experienced lively Cuban music, captivating dance performances, and delicious food. This cultural immersion enhanced their appreciation of Habanos’ rich heritage.

The Vegueros Centrogordos, created to honor Cuban farmers from the Pinar del Rio region, is now available to Habanos lovers in the Canadian market.
